As a high school teacher of Biology and president of the Water Watchers of Indiana, I have had experience using this product with students and groups throughout the state. Since dilutions and mixing are easily done at the site and the calcium hardener enables quick set up after mixing, running these samples have proven to be much easier. Coliscan Easygel costs less per sample and expensive hot water baths are not required; it is easier to teach the relationship between individual organisms and colonies. Students count the colonies, do the math and may apply the data to water quality indexes."
